What exactly is NetCollect?
NetCollect.org is a collective of like minded networks with like minded individuals. We base our interests and projects around technology, computer programming, radical politics, and freedom of information. Any one is welcome to join our IRC server or become a part of the collective. We are under a creative commons license allowing any redistributation (except for commercial purposes), with editing, considering you distribute it under the same or similar license.
Why was this created?
The reason our network was created was to have a more free and fun enviornment (read: less rule based). As a group we believe that all information should have a "free-flow" and be publically available. We do not limit any type of speech or content discussed within our community. In all, we are a quite relaxed and friendly community. Of course, you shouldn't take my word for it, come check it out and see for your self!
What do you offer?
We offer a fun, intelligent, and a more anarchaic and relaxed community where users can socialize and learn about anything what so ever. We also offer several challenge based websites that are part of the collective, many places to learn different aspects of technology, and several free (and cheap) services. In the near future (read: when we get everything set up), we hope to offer unix shells, web and email hosting, and a variety of other fun things to partake in.
What do you need?
First and foremost: we need a strong, steady, willing, and large user base! Invite your friends, link your pages, pass our flyers, do what ever you have to do to make the community grow! Also, we are always looking for any way to expand the collective, any people willing to donate, code or help out, and to provide any needed services to the online community. Any interested groups or individuals can send an email to link@netcollect.org or hop on our IRC server (irc.netcollect.org #netcollect) and inquire in the main channel.
